Heather graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in education. She was a proud Navy wife teaching in Virginia and Italy while her husband George served as a submarine officer. After moving back home to Fort Lauderdale, she successfully organized his political campaigns for Florida state representative and her political campaigns for city commission, while continuing her career in education. She has always been committed to improving her community and serving at church. Heather taught at public and private schools, trained early childhood teachers, homeschooled, wrote curriculum, developed an avionics career technical program with the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and Broward County Public Schools, and served as a Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner from 2018-2022. She is currently serving as a Senior Fellow for the Institute of Faith & Culture. George and Heather have two grown daughters working in education and one furry friend.

School safety is of utmost importance in ensuring the well-being and security of students, teachers, and staff members.
Academic Excellence:
Almost all students will enter the workforce, and academic excellence will prepare them for that journey with the tools they need.
Parental Rights:
Parents have rights that the government and school boards cannot take away. I will fight to ensure that parents have their say.
College Preparedness:
Our children must be provided with a framework that will help them achieve their higher education and professional goals.
Heather has learned many lessons on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Whether it was serving as a Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner, teaching AP Government and Politics, raising two amazing adult children, supporting her husband when he went out to sea on a US Navy submarine or supporting his eight years as a Florida state representative, she has learned a lot about serving, leading, how our government works, and how you can be involved. Most importantly, she learned to prioritize healthy family relationships, while building deep community connections. Speaking and sharing stories of hope and inspiration for the future of our country is her passion.
